About

Thanks for visiting!

My name is Justin Murdock and I am a card-carrying FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot. I know all the laws and regulations for flying drones and I am licensed to fly unmanned aircraft commercially. In addition to filming cinematic footage with my 6K resolution drone camera, I use aerial photographs to create digital 3D models.

The 3D models I create provide the most comprehensive understanding of an object or property. One of my favorite things to do is create digital assets and load them into game engines like Unreal Engine. I can scan a vehicle, wire up the wheels to spin and turn, and make it something that you can drive around in an environment. I can scan an environment and turn it into the level that you play on - as a person walking around, driving, or flying a drone. Taking real world objects and wiring them to be playable components inside of interactive environments creates a sense of connection and awe which is exactly what I aim for.

The utility of a 3D model or map for planning purposes is second to none. You can put architectural renderings of building models onto a property, see how much earth needs to be moved to place it there in real life, see where you should place the building in order to get the best view.. You can quickly remove all vegetation from a terrain map and see a bare earth digital surface map, render 2D orthographic (top-down) maps and 3D elevation maps. Viewing these models as an avatar, you place yourself in the environment and your brain is fooled into thinking you are truly there - everything is familiar and you get the urge to explore the world you are in.
